Every time one of the grand kids turns 3 years old, my parents take them to Build a Bear. They get to pick out their favorite creature to stuff, fluff and dress. Jimmy is turning 3 on Sunday, so it was his turn for the fun. We met up with Kendra and her kids and rode Trax up to the Gateway Center. Sure, there's a Build a Bear closer, but then we wouldn't have the adventure of riding Trax and playing in the fountain. Jimmy chose the monkey. He seemed to know right away that was the one for him. Ian helped guide him through the experience (even though he doesn't remember when he went). While giving his monkey a "bath" he turned to us and with a big smile said, "I LOVE this store!!". I asked Jimmy what he wanted to name his monkey and he said, "George!". Of course. When we got home the other kids HAD to get their critters from when it was their year. Thanks Mom and Dad! It was a fun and special day.

That was such a fun day. Thanks for letting us tag along. Happy almost birthday, Jimmy!
What a great tradition.
Our pleasure! We love the outing with each of the kidlets. Eliza thinks we need to start over. With only one child left, maybe we should :}
HAppy BIRThdaY!! We love you! HOw fun is that? Jake would love it.
What a great idea. Abby loves Build a Bear. She and I could hardly wait for Emily to get engaged so we could go to BAB and make a Elephant Bride but they had discontinued the elephant by then so we had to make a Bunny Bride.
One day we were walking past the store and they invited us in to make bears to go to the victims of the Tsunami. It was a free chance to make a bear and reinforced the idea of helping people who had suffered tragedies. Very cool. I was afraid she wouldn't want to give away the bears but she loved the idea.
