We spent the 4th of July week in South Dakota with James' Family. We visited Martin's Cove on the way out. Then Custer National Park, Mount Rushmore, and other sites. We had a good time with all 25 people (14 of who were 10 years old or younger). The highlight was seeing the fireworks at Mount Rushmore. We had to get there early (9am) to get a spot in the amphitheater. We spent the day taking turns wandering around, and playing card games to help pass the 12 hour wait to the fireworks. They had different bands playing, a couple different child entertainers who let the kids come down and dance on stage, and two men impersonating Pres. Lincoln and Roosevelt (they were very good). At about 7pm the actual program started; an Airforce band out of Nebraska, bagpipes, a Native American singer, B-52 Bomber fly over, and another B-something or other fly over, and then the fireworks. They were AMAZING! The were set off right off the heads of the Presidents. And they went on and ON! It was worth the long day. I would highly recommend seeing this at some point in your life.

When Gram and I took Britt and Emily to Mt Rushmore on our way to Oma's birthday, we were there in the mid afternoon and there was a rainshower. Apparently the first thing to get wet are their cheeks and it looked like they had tears running down their faces.
But your picture is much more beautiful. Can't believe you could keep kids entertained for that long. Good on ya.
